Moving to an Ohme chargepoint

We’ve changed our chargepoint provider from Easee to Ohme.

If you already have an Easee chargepoint, we’ll change this to an Ohme chargepoint. This is to ensure you get the highest quality charging support both now and in the future.

Moving to Ohme

Why is my chargepoint being changed?

We want to provide you with long term reliability when it comes to charging your electric car.

Ohme chargepoints feature the latest smart charging technology, plus other great features to help you reduce your charging costs. We’re changing your chargepoint to make sure you can take advantage of this technology and any new developments in the future.

Can I keep my current chargepoint instead?

We recommend that you change to an Ohme chargepoint. As we are no longer in partnership with Easee, we may not be able to support you with any issues relating to the servicing or warranty of your chargepoint.

If you opt to not have your chargepoint changed now, you will not be able to take advantage of this offer in the future.

I do not have my electric car anymore, can I still get this?

Yes. We’re offering to change anyone with an Easee chargepoint, even if you do not have an electric car on the Motability Scheme anymore.

We’ll arrange a home chargepoint and a standard installation as part of your lease.

Your new chargepoint

What charger will I get?

You’ll get the Ohme ePod. This is suitable for all types of electric vehicles and features Ohme’s class leading smart charging technology. You can learn more about the ePod here

Will I need a new charging cable for my car?

No, the Ohme ePod will work with your existing charging cable.

What new features can I expect?

The features of the Ohme ePod include:

  • 3g/4g connectivity: your chargepoint is connected, and updates can be sent automatically over-the-air.
  • Smart-tariff integration: it can integrate with all energy tariffs, including the smartest tariffs like Intelligent Octopus, letting you charge at the cheapest and greenest times available.
  • On-charger controls: charge via mobile app or interactive buttons on the ePod.
  • Vehicle API integration: for certain vehicle makes, Ohme lets you connect to your vehicle’s app for more precise charging. So, instead of specifying how much charge you’d like to add to your vehicle, you can specify a charging target you wish to reach.

Your new Ohme chargepoint will come with a three-year warranty

Installing the chargepoint

What are the next steps?

Ohme will contact you to answer any questions and explain the next steps.

You can also book a call back from Ohme, contact them directly on 0330 818 7087 or email them at switch@ohme-ev.com.

How long will it take to fit the new chargepoint?

Installation should take around an hour.

The engineer will need to turn off the power to your property for a limited time, so someone will need to be at home while the engineer completes the upgrade.

The Ohme engineer will take the Easee chargepoint away when they have finished the installation.

Will it be fitted in the same place?

Yes, your Ohme chargepoint should be installed in the same place as your current Easee chargepoint.

If you have any specific questions about the installation, please speak to Ohme directly.

Can I still use my Easee charge point in the meantime?

Yes, you can continue to use your Easee chargepoint as much as needed until it’s changed.
