How do I add or remove my bank details in the Motability Scheme online account?

You’ll need to add your sort code and account number in your Motability Scheme online account to receive payments directly into your bank account.

To add your bank details

Sign in, then go to the personal details section and follow the steps under 'My payment details'.

You need to enter details for a UK bank account which has been open for longer than six months, and we might not accept some smaller or newer banks.

To update your bank details

Choose ‘Change bank details’ then follow the steps.

If you want to remove your bank details and go back to cheque payments

Just follow the steps in the ‘My payment details’ section or call our customer services team on 0300 456 4566.

If you remove your bank details while we're already sending you a payment

We’ll send this payment by bank transfer, then we'll send you all future payments by cheque.

We keep your details secure in a few ways:

  • Your bank details are encrypted once they’ve been saved
  • Our advisors cannot change your details. They can only delete them
  • We’ll send you a notification whenever your bank details have been changed
  • You can only see the last few digits of your sort code and account number in your online account
