What do I do if my car is damaged inside, or by a mobility aid?

We know all vehicles will show wear and tear with use, but you’re not covered, under the insurance policy, for damage to the inside of your vehicle.

You'll need to pay for interior repairs, depending on what caused the damage.

If it's caused by an accident that means you need specific repairs

Your insurance policy does not cover damage to the trim and upholstery in your car, unless it's caused by an accident that means you need bodywork or mechanical repairs.

If it's caused by mobility aids

If the damage is caused by wheelchairs or other mobility aids like crutches or walking sticks, we'll class these as fair wear and tear.

We do not expect this damage to be repaired, even if it's caused by a family member’s wheelchair or mobility aid.
