Visit a dealer or contact a supplier
Once you’re ready, visit a dealer if you’re looking for a car, scooter or powered wheelchair, and they’ll help you order.
If you’re searching for a WAVWheelchair Accessible Vehicle supplier or adaptations installer, do not worry about how far away they are. They’ll come to you, then they’ll help you order.
You need to be there to place the order, unless you have an appointee to represent you.
Start applying online
With most vehicles, you can start applying in your Motability Scheme online account. This gives you more time to choose the right vehicle for you.
Create an accountIf you apply at the dealer, you’ll need to bring:
- A UK passport or driving licence for the appointee or customer applying
- Know the National Insurance number (NINO) or Customer Reference Number (CRN) of the person receiving the allowance
- Driving licences for all drivers and details of any claims history
- Your driver declaration (if the driver is not there)
- Your grant award letter (if applicable)
If you applied online, you only need to bring:
- A UK passport or driving licence for the appointee or customer applying
- Know the National Insurance number (NINO) or Customer Reference Number (CRN) of the person receiving the allowance
Please make sure your address matches on all of the documents you give us.
You could get a £750 New Vehicle Payment
If you’re joining the Scheme for the first time and you order your first vehicle by 3 January 2025, you’ll receive this after you collect your new vehicle.
Or, you can choose to send this directly to your dealer to help towards your Advance Payment.
If you order a scooter or powered wheelchair, you’ll receive a New Product Payment instead.
You can only get this payment once.
