Ease of getting on and off

Scooters and powered wheelchairs can be a great option for people with limited mobility. Some models can even be fitted with a seat that swivels.

Enjoy a smooth ride

Scooters and powered wheelchairs can be sturdy or a bit lighter, depending on the surfaces you travel on most. Larger products are great for longer journeys as they’re more comfortable. Smaller products are great if you need to manoeuvre more on your journeys.

Feel at ease and in control

No matter the length of your journey, you’ll want to feel comfortable and in control. The steering column can be adjusted and the controls can be used no matter your hand strength.

Steering your product

Our products can be used in different places, from around the home to around a shop. The turning circle and how it moves can vary. You should always test drive the product to see how it feels.

Preparing for trips

If you choose to use the product a lot or for long journeys, check how comfortable the seat is. You should also check how far you can travel with a fully charged battery, especially if there are hills on your route.

Your typical journey

Try to choose a product based on the type of journey you do most often. If you enjoy longer trips on different surfaces, you might need a different product than if you just want to move around your house.

Carrying your product in your car

Some smaller scooters can be broken down into parts or folded to fit in your car. Most powered wheelchairs cannot be broken down. Check which make and models can be carried in your car with your dealer.

Remember to recharge

Scooters and powered wheelchairs are battery powered and will need to be plugged in to recharge when they’re stored. Your dealer will give you tips on how best to do this, especially if you need to store the product outside.
