When you’ve decided on the scooter or powered wheelchair that you think you might want, the next step is to speak to a dealer. They’ll talk you through everything.
They’ll then bring a few products to your home that they think are most suitable. You’ll be able to test drive these in and around your home to see which you’re most comfortable using.

Things to check
- Are you comfortable in the seat?
- Can you comfortably reach all the controls?
- Can you reach and grip the steering column?
- Is it easy to understand and use?
- Is there enough space around your legs?
- Can you get on and off easily?
- Can you drive on and off higher kerbs?
- Does it fit within your home or boot?
- Are there steep hills on a typical journey?
- Do you need adjustments?
